Lathangi is a Melakarta (fundamental or parent raga, containing all seven notes of the octave in the ascending and descending modes).
Notation: Sa Re2 Ga3 Ma2 Pa Dha1 Ni3 Sa (Aarohana) and Sa Ni3 Dha1 Pa Ma2 Ga3 Re2 Sa (Avarohana).
It is usually rendered as a night raga.

In Lathangi we must underline the wonderful a solo by the two percussionists Nitin Mitta (tabla) and Vijay Ganesh (mridangam).
