It is a monsoon melody.
Thaat Khamaj. Both komol (flat) and shuddha (normal) nishads (ni) are used in this raga. Jati is aurob - sampurna.

Time of performance second prahar of night.
(Prahar is a Sanskrit word. We have eight prahars in 24 hours of the day. So, each prahar is 3 hours. And from 6 AM to 6 PM is day prahar and from 6 PM to 6 AM is night prahar. So, time of performance of Desh is 9 PM to 12 PM.
Character and mood of the raga is peaceful and devotional.
